Ohayo Japan: DisneySea!

7:06 AM

Hey guys!

What a perfect way to end my teenage life (oh it's too much but sadly true) with a trip to DisneySea! I had been to two Disneylands before so I picked DisneySea. I read that it is more targeted towards adult visitors and is said to be of the prettiest theme park in the world. It is located in the Chiba area, right next to the sea. To get there, just make you way to Tokyo Station and there should be a direction showing you to go the Maihama Line. Then, you will this cute Mickey monorail (like the one in Hong Kong) to DisneySea.

I love Japanese people theme park-goers. They take this trip very seriously. You have to see for yourself. They dress up in their favorite character and even brought their best loved character, which is not Mickey, but Duffy, the Disney Bear! We looked very under dressed with just a Minnie and Donald t-shirt. And I was wearing a mini skirt and thought it was cool. Nope, it wasn't. It was so windy, do not wear mini skirts

There are seven areas in DisneySea: Port Discovery, Mediterranean Harbor,  Mysterious Island, Arabian Coast, Mermaid Lagoon, Lost River Delta and American Waterfront plus a small area where Duffy's from, Cape Cod. I loved them all. My favorite was actually Mediterranean Harbor and Cape Cod. Now, let's get serious. Everyone will want to go to one very special ride, Toy Story Mania. It is a 3D shooting game (which was so fun) and it is very crowded all the time. So, a tip is to run (yes, run) right after the park opens to get the fastpass. It is quite impossible to get in without a fastpass. We did that, with much effort (I can't run, shitty runner), manage to get the pass and then went on the Tower of Terror--my first time! I must say the ride itself is pretty awesome if only it was longer. It was really scary going up the tower in pitch black!

Well, besides all the rides and shows to see, the thing that you should look out for is the food. I picked up this really cute peach and raspberry Minnie Mouse ice. It's quite easy to find in them carts. For food, you have to grab the Pork Sausage Bun. Imagine the filling of a gyoza inside a bun. It was heavenly. It was pricey but totally, totally worth it. It is located on the passage between Mermaid Lagoon and Mysterious Island. For dessert type snack, you have to have the little green buns. Oh my Lord it was good. It is three cold buns filled with chocolate, strawberry and vanilla. Of course it is found near the Toy Story Mania ride.

For lunch, we went to the Zambini Brother's, an affordable Italian restaurant. We ordered the Penne with Cream Sauce and Spaghetti Bolognese. I loved them-one of the best pastas I tasted. That is all.

The beauty of DisneySea is in their parades. It's DisneySea, obviously their parades are on water! Their day parade, Legend of Mythica, is on everyday at 13.30 if I am not mistaken (please look it up) in the Mediterranean Harbor area. It was awesome. Don't know where to sit? Just watch the locals. Some of them actually know the prime locations a.k.a. the location where the characters will dance on. They will wait for the show like one hour before the show begins. You'll notice them--and go join them. Aside from the rides, go see the Big Band Beat, a Jazz show starring your favorite Disney stars. There was Marie. I love Marie.

But, the highlight of my day was this picture. It is a dream come true. I waited 45 minutes to take this picture. When I went to my first Disneyland in Hong Kong, I took a picture with Chip n Dale. In Paris, I took one with Daisy. I deserve a picture with Miss Minnie Mouse. She was so nice. She gave me a kiss. Aww.

To end the night, we went on the two level carousel  and I was just so happy. Tip for you: buy the Disney pass a day before, from your nearest Disney Store. I went to one in Tokyo Solamachi. I believe there's also one in Shibuya. Get to the park as early as possible. Want to have a quick breakfast? You can find ekiben (a bento sold in a station) at Tokyo Station. Prepare your legs for long walking and your wallet for the succulent snacks they have in the park.

PS: Try the many flavored popcorns. They have lots of different flavored popcorns, from caramels to black pepper and curry. I love curry so it's only normal for me to get the Curry Popcorn near the Arabian Coast area. I loved it!
