Boka Buka French Dining

4:25 AM

Hey guys!

It's my last post of the week since I'll be going back to work tomorrow. Today I went on a date (with my brother, HA!) to Pondok Indah area. We tried Boka Buka, which supposed to be a down to earth French dining place. It is located at Street Gallery PIM Level 3. There's also a branch in Cipete I think. We saw a TV review on this place so hey, why not give it a try. The place was easy to find and not crowded. The service was excellent (well, there were only two parties in the restaurant). They also gave us a complimentary ginger juice (not my favorite, sorry). But the best part the window overlooks the PIM swimming pool complex. That was fun to watch.

We ordered the classic, Escargot de Bourgogne (75k) with a baguette side. It was delicious. They possibly use garlic oil or butter and the snails are good enough. I think you must try it at least once. But, fair warning, do not get your hopes up (like I did). I must say now that I have eaten several slugs and I think I've had enough. It is overrated - so that's enough for a lifetime.

For my main course, I ordered the Creamy Chicken in Crepe (80k).Crepes are so french so I had to have it. The cream wins it all. It was creamy and tasty. I love chicken and mushroom - it was a win for me. The crepes was cooked nicely - soft, the way I like it.

If you're looking for some adventurous food than Boka Buka is definitely your choice. But, if you ask me whether I would want to come back, I'll pass. Nothing really special for my taste. But hey, that's just me. You have to taste it for your own.
