Malang Plesiran Day 2

4:16 AM

Hey guys!

It's day two of my trip to Malang. Our family hired a driver who took us around the city in the next few days. For breakfast, my dad had this brilliant idea of eating satay, again. He said that our former President dined there before. It's called Warung Sate Gebug. From the reviews we know that their satay is huge! It's not chicken but rather minced beef. I bet you can only eat one because it is enough or you'll get cholesterol or something nasty. You can order a side of homemade soup or rawon. I must say it is delicious but not to a point of repeating. I don't like minced beef or minced anything really, so this is not for me. Now for food porn shots!

This eatery is located at

Warung Sate Gebug
Jalan Basuki Rahmat. It is directly beside McDonald's Kayoetangan.

After breakfast, it was Jatim Park 2 day!

You cannot not go to the hippest, most talked about themed parks in this area. Basically you can choose between a few different parks of your choosing. Jatim Pak 1 has pools and water activities so maybe it is best suited for our younger friends. You can also choose Selecta for the same purpose. The little ones can also enjoy Jatim Park 2 which houses an animal museum and a zoo: Museum Satwa and Batu Secret Zoo.

Aside from those two options, you can got to Museum Angkut and Movie Studio, which houses a collection of old and new transportations and a sort of mini Universal Studio like park. For the nightcrawler, it is best to go to Batu Night Spectacular which I think it modeled after a night market with rides and lantern garden.

Museum Satwa kind of looks like the Museum of Natural History. Yes, you can see giant fossils or preserved animals. It was quite interesting and I must say I am impressed because they have a large collection. But, the highlight was the zoo. I love the zoo so much! It has a walking trail so you don't have to worry about what to see next. When we went there, rain was getting in the way plus my shoes were soaked but the animals, they were just too cute. I loved seeing the giant rats, the raccoon, lemurs(!) and meerkats! Again, they offer a wide variety of animals from different habitats. They also have feeding shows and elephant rides. Towards the end there was also a few fair rides you can choose from for free. It was so pretty. I love it!

After the trip, we went back to Malang and eat dinner at Depot Gang Djangkrik at Jalan Kawi Atas. Beware that this is a Chinese restaurant and probably serve non halal food. We ordered Malang's proud dish of Cwie Mie with Sio Bak. It is delicous! Oh the pork was heavenly but the highlight was the noodles. They are chewy and not soggy like some noodles. I hear they make their own noodles.

For snacking, we went old school and got some Kue Putu, Lopis and Klepon. I love those sweet goodness. Especially klepon with that burst of brown sugar. Splendid!
