On the second day, we followed William Wongso's food trail. First we went to Depot Hoklay, which is famous for its Cwie Mie and Lumpia Semarang. The lumpier is generic - nothing can beat Lumpia Jalan Lombok Semarang - but I love the Cwie mie. The noodles aren't as chewy as the Depot Djangkrik but this one is super savoury. It's that kind of comforting food. I really want to eat this again if I ever coming back to Malang. For beverages, it's famous for it's Fosco, chocolate drink. It tastes very similar to a chocolate rock salt from ShareTea - which I adore. So, Depot Hok Lay is definitely my highlight of the trip.
